9 Natural Ways to Get Healthy Hair
Actually, there is no secret or quick fix for thick, healthy hair. If you have strong, shiny, and healthy hair, cherish it and take all the necessary steps to keep it that way. I am sharing some tips with those who do not have healthy hair based on my experience. You can extend the life of your hair by following a proper hair care routine and making some lifestyle changes.
1. Before showering, brush your hair
No matter how thin or thick your hair strands are, taking time to detangle them before taking a shower can maintain their strength and health. The natural oils in your hair are distributed from your scalp to the ends by brushing your hair before you take a shower.
2. Avoid washing your hair on a regular basis
Many people believe that they need to wash their hair every day, but doing so too frequently can cause product build-up and hair damage. As a result, washing your hair twice a week is more than enough.
Note: You must wash your hair every day if it becomes oily very soon. Use a mild shampoo in this situation because it has milder ingredients than other shampoos do.
3. Always use conditioner after washing your hair
After washing your hair, you must use conditioner because it will give it moisture and make it softer. Additionally, it will make brushing out your hair less damaging after the shower.
Note: Apply conditioner to your hair ends and middle lengths, not your scalp.
4. Use hair masks twice a month
If you use a hair mask twice a month, it will be effective if it cannot be done twice a month, at least once a month, apply it. Deep conditioning is given to your hair through hair masks. Make use of a hair mask that has been made specifically for your type of hair.
5. Apply a hair serum
Apply hair serum to freshly blow-dried or wet hair before drying. You may minimize frizz and maintain silky, shiny hair by using hair serum.
Note: It is best to apply hair serum to the middle and ends of the hair. Avoid applying it to your roots because doing so will make them look oily.
6. Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet
Since protein makes up the majority of our hair by nature, having a healthy, well-balanced diet high in protein-rich foods is essential. Include foods like spinach, beans, eggs, fish, and other poultry in your diet.
Note: Include foods high in vitamins C and E in your diet. It will help increase the production of collagen, which results in stronger, healthier strands.
7. Reduce the shower’s temperature
Daily use of hot water in the shower, especially for washing your hair, might irritate your scalp and perhaps weaken your hair. Always keep the shower in a warm setting and finish with a fast rinse in cold water to lock in the cuticles and preserve healthy hair.
8. Regular hair trimming is necessary
To ensure that your strands remain strong and do not break off at the ends, regular hair trimming is necessary. If you do not want to lose a length of hair, have your hair stylist trim the ends to remove any damaged ends.
Note: It is recommended to trim the hair, either at the ends or length, every two to three months.
9. Manage stress
In response to stress, your body undergoes a hormonal change that is harmful to your health. Naturally, these changes also show up in the way you look, especially the way your hair looks. Stress might cause your hair to thin out or cause significant hair loss. To relieve stress, make an effort to move more, engage in meditation, or divert your thoughts.
Final Thought
Taking care of and maintaining healthy hair is equally important. Making little lifestyle and dietary adjustments has a significant impact on both the skin and hair. Follow a regular hair care routine in addition to those adjustments to retain strong, healthy hair.
