Common Skin Type
Finding the right skin type and its skincare routine is quite
tough and tricky because for some people their skin type can change in step
with the season like in winter, their skin becomes dry and in summer skin looks
oily.
So, understanding the skin type is the best way to keep your
skin healthy and glowing. When it comes to skincare to treat your skin better,
you should know how your skin behaves for skincare products. In this article,
from my experience am sharing the common skin types and its routine.
1. Normal Skin
Actually, normal skin has well-balanced sebum secretion and
moisture content. Usually, normal skin looks not too dry and not too oily.
Characteristics of Normal Skin
--> No visible blemishes, greasy patches on the skin
--> Smooth Texture
Skincare Routine for Normal Skin
--> Follow regular day and night skincare routine to keep
your skin fresh and clean
--> Use gentle exfoliation product to get rid of dead skin
cells and other impurities
--> Give gentle massage using face cream for better blood
circulation
2. Dry Skin
This type of skin has less sebum secretion than the normal
skin type.
Characteristics of Dry Skin
--> Skin looks very dull due to dead cells
--> Redness around cheeks
--> Skin easily reacts to outside environmental conditions
Skincare Routine for Dry Skin
--> Use warm water and mild cleanser to get rid of dirt
and dead skin cells.
--> Spend less time in the shower. Apply moisturizer
immediately, once the face wash or shower time is done
--> Use humidifier, do not allow your indoor temperature
gets too dry or too hot
--> Use mild detergents for washing clothes. Always wear
gloves while handling cleaning supplies and also doing cleaning works.
3. Oily Skin
Oily skin has over secretion of sebum from the sebaceous
glands. actually, sebum is nothing but an oily substance.
Characteristics of Oily Skin
--> Skin looks shiny and greasy due to excess sebum
secretion
--> Large opened visible pores
--> Frequent acne like blackheads and whiteheads
--> Frequent pimples
Skincare Routine for Oily Skin
--> Wash your face frequently especially after you sweat a
lot
--> Do not scrub your face often. Use a mild cleanser to
get rid of excess oil from the face
--> Do not pick or squeeze the pimples, blackheads, and
whiteheads.
--> Try to do facials, it helps you to get rid of the
excess oils and dead skin cells
4. Combination Skin
As the name implies, this combined skin is combined with
three common skin types like dry, normal, and oily. Skin can be normal or dry
in a particular area and oily in other areas like the forehead, nose, and chin
(commonly referred to as T-zone). People in this skin type need special care.
Characteristics of Combination Skin
--> Skin looks shiny and greasy due to oil secretion in
T-zone and dryness in other areas.
--> Large visible pores
Skincare Routine for Combination Skin
--> It is necessary to follow the CTM process (i.e..,)
Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturizing
--> Use a mild cleanser for face wash and mild scrub to
exfoliate your skin once or twice every week.
--> Avoid oil-based skincare products because it clogs the
pores and causes breakouts
--> Use sunscreen (with SPF15 or higher) to protect the
skin from sun damage
5. Sensitive Skin
If the skin reacts to new skincare products or environmental conditions
like pollution, sun damage, and many others - then the skin type is sensitive
Characteristics of Sensitive Skin
--> Skin feels itchy and sometimes become redness if the product did not suit your skin
--> Uneven skin tone and texture. Frequent rashes on the
skin
--> Skin feels oily in summer and dry during winter
Skincare Routine for Sensitive Skin

the skin, and scrub to get rid of the
dead skin cells
--> Use a moisturizer that is specially made for your skin
type

not scrub your face using a towel
