Generally, in this season we are habituated to take a hot drink like tea or coffee but this habit is very harmful to our body as well as skin.

If you follow all your skincare regularly and drink less water means; all your skincare routine will fail. So, take care of your skin in winter drink enough amount of water. You should drink at least a minimum of 8 glasses and a maximum of 10 glasses of water every day. If the water is too cold, just make it warm and drink.

Just remember one thing, the more you drink, the more your skin will remain healthier and glowing all the season.

2. Use room Humidifier Effectively

During winter, to keep your inside home warm we use a fireplace, room heater, and other equipment. The negative part of using all the room heating equipment is, it removes the moisture level from your home.  To fill the lost moisture inside your home, you can use a humidifier during the dry winter months. The moist air from the humidifier helps to protect the moisture level of your skin.

3. Change your regular Skin Care Products for the Season

Winter weather is completely different, your skin easily reacts at this time. So, you must change the skincare products that you used regularly in other months of the year. In wintertime, your daily skincare should have a cleanser, scrub, moisturizer, and lip balm.

Skin Care Routine during Winter

Here is some skincare routine that you can follow to keep your skin soft and glowing this winter:

(i) Cleansing

It is the first step of your skincare routine. Never wash your face in a hot water or normal tap water. Use lukewarm water, it retains your skin's natural oils which act as a barrier against extreme dryness.

you need to choose a cleanser that should be gentle on your skin. Select a cleanser that has moisturizing properties. Once you are done with cleansing do not leave the skin naked, make sure to lock that moisture with a toner or moisturizer, or both if you are regularly following CTM( Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer) routine.

(ii) Moisturizing

Moisturizer helps to hydrate your skin. Balancing your skin's moisture is important to lock youthful, young, and glowing skin. The moisturizer also helps to delay signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles, and many other imperfections on the skin.

There are endless options that are available when it comes to selecting a moisturizer, but not all are suitable for your skin's concerns. It is advisable to choose an oil-based moisturizer instead of a water-based moisturizer to keep hydrating oil in your skin.

(iii) Sunscreen

Yes, even it is not summering you should not miss your sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun. Sunscreen is an important part of your skincare routine, it protects your skin from damaging UV rays and blocks out unwanted radicals. Before you go out, apply sunscreen with a broad spectrum with an SPF 15 or higher to all exposed areas of your body.

(iv) Exfoliation/Scrub

Your skincare routine is incomplete without a good scrub to get rid of all dead cells, dirt, and other impurities from your skin. Exfoliation allows your skin to take fresh to breathe and gives you an instant glow.

(v) Face Mask

Now, all your necessary care is done for your skin on daily basis you can do one more thing on weekends. Yes, face masks help to relax your skin and give a glow to your skin. While choosing a face mask always choose one that is made up of natural ingredients.

4. Eat Healthily

A right healthy meal plan will help you to get good health and glowing skin. Try to include more water content food that helps you to stay well-hydrated. In wintertime, to take care of your skin eat more veggies in any form like eat either by cooking, or by making juice, or by raw (i.e.,) as a salad.

Apart from veggies, you can have cereals, foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids. Try to avoid junk, oil, and grilled foods. It not only affects your skin but also damages your overall health. If you are not hydrating your body from inside, then all the skincare products would not be able to help you in any way.

5. Stop taking Hot Shower

Who does not like to take a hot shower or hot bath especially in cold weather?  Actually, it will tempt you to go for a hot shower when the temperature is low, but you should stop taking it for the sake of your skin. Hot showers suck out the natural oil and moisture content of your skin.

So, always use lukewarm water while taking shower and cleansing instead of using hot water. Lukewarm water keeps your body temperature warmer but not hot, and avoid spending much time in the shower.

6. Night Time care

The night is the resting time not only for you but also for the resting time for your skin. Usually, at night time your skin tries to resolve the loss of the skin issues that you have gone through the entire day so that it can work with full energy in next day.

So, you should follow some Skincare routine before going to bed. First,

-> Wash your face with a cleanser.

-> Then apply moisturizing night cream on your face to work the entire night.

-> You can use a commercial moisturizer or some natural oils like olive oil, almond oil, or coconut oil.
