People need the motivation to complete tasks perfectly. Children's
motivation is hard to come by naturally, and it is even tougher to keep them
motivated. And that is why many parents use the best trick called
"reward". As parents, we love and, moreover, it is our responsibility should reward our
children for good behavior or for listening to us(parents).
Many parents believe that rewards must be costly. But, trust
me, rewards do not have to be costly. You can reward your children in many easy
ways.
Here is an interesting
article that talks about the importance of rewards and how you can reward your
children.

What Are The Benefits Of Rewarding Your Children?
Parenting is tough, and your responsibilities extend beyond
feeding and clothing your children to raising and nurturing them as a good
human being. It is important to appreciate and reward children for their good
behavior and hard work in order to encourage and motivate them to continue doing
so until it becomes a habit.
Early childhood is very important for children since their
brain functions are rapidly growing and they are developing good behavior,
life, and social skills. Moreover, there are other benefits to rewarding
children, as follows:
* It motivates the child to behave positively
* It gives the child the feeling that he or she has earned a
reward for their efforts and good manners
* It improves their confidence and self-esteem
* Being appreciated helps them remember what they have
learned
* It also helps in the development of a strong parent-child
bond
How To Reward Your Children?
It is not always necessary to reward children after they have
done something excellent or meaningful. It is important to recognize them
simply for putting up the effort and hard work, regardless of whether or not they
were successful in achieving their goal. Based on my experience, I have put
together a list of easy ideas you may use to reward your child for good
behavior and hard work.
1. Spend quality time with your child
The best way to reward your child's good behavior and hard
work is by spending some quality time with them. Spending time as a form of
reward can also help in the development of a strong parent-child bond.
2. Take your child on a special outing
Most children love going out; it does not matter where they
go. It can be a park near your home or a play zone at a mall. If your child
consistently performs well, you can reward them with a special outing to their
favorite place.
3. Allow your child to socialize with their best friends
When your child enjoys having free time as a reward, allow
them to spend time with their best friend if they show an interest. This will help
your older children socialize with others.
4. Prepare a meal that your child enjoys
As a reward, you (parents) can prepare your child's favorite
meal. Instead of you choosing your child's favorite meal, ask them to choose
their favorite meal and prepare it together. Your child will enjoy the feeling
of responsibility as a result of this.
5. Give your child useful products as a reward
You could also give your child school supplies or products
related to his or her favorite hobby or activity. This will encourage your
child to engage in their favorite pastime.
6. Always appreciate the behavior of the child, not the child
Instead of stating your child is "good" or
"bad", parents should focus on appreciating their behavior. Be specific
about your child's behavior, explaining how and why his or her behavior was
good or bad.
7. Prepare a reward chart for your child
Most parents use a reward chart, and it is the best way to
appreciate and encourage positive behavior. It helps your child to assess their
own behavior. Use smiley faces, signs, or some stickers to reward them for
their good behavior on the reward chart. This kind of reward system will help
your child evaluate their own behavior on a daily routine basis.
Parenting Tip: Consider The Following Points When Rewarding Your Children
--> Make sure you reward your child right away, rather
than waiting 3 to 5 days
--> Do not give expensive products as a reward
--> Do not always rely on materialistic rewards to
appreciate your child's good behavior and hard work
--> Limit the number of sweets and candies you give as a
reward because it may have an impact on their health
--> Teach your child to say "thank you" when he
or she receives a reward
Final Thought
Finally, as parents, you are aware of your child's situation.
To avoid your child taking the reward system for granted, just reward him or
her when he or she behaves well. Help your children in earning their reward
through their own efforts and behavior so that both you(parents) and your child
can enjoy the end result.
The above-discussed ideas for rewarding your child are based
on my experience, and you can choose what best suits your child's character.
Nice one ...
